Hi, I don't have American Girl dolls, but was just going through a box of stuff given to me by my late Aunt and found two tins about 2 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches, black, with American Girl Paint Set on it. They have all the tubes of paint (5) - not opened, but when I looked on ebay and googled it I couldn't find any mention of this. Would appreciate any info about it and if anyone is interested in it please let me know. Thanks!! Marie.

I'm am not positive, but I think that that is from Molly's Christmas Set. Again, I'm not quite sure about that.

If they are tubes of paints than they may be replacement tubes from Samanthas Summer Amusements Set. If you can post a picture of the tubes it would be helpful.

I think it's part of the rainbow paint set that went with the budding artist outfit. It was discontinued probably 4-5 years ago. The outfit had denim overalls with a lime t-shirt and paint splattered shirt and cute sneakers. Another accessory was the easel w/3 canvas boards. Your paints would have come with a color wheel, a palette and two brushes. It was a really cute set, but but all 3 sets came to $56.00-kind of pricy. If your tin has a picture of a pallett below the words American Girl paint set, it is to this set for sure.

Yes, you are right. I just looked it up on Curt's website and there it is under retired accessories. It was called The Rainbow Paint Set. It was sold as an accessory set( color wheel, palette, 2 brushes, 5 tubes of acrylic paint).
